Anderson Silva vs. Forrest Griffin signed for UFC 101

April
28

Coming off of two unspectacular title defenses, Anderson Silva will jump to the 205 pound division to take on Forrest Griffin.

Griffin, a taller and physically stronger athlete then Anderson is used to handling, will provide interesting challenges for Spider Silva. It has been specualted that Silva is so bored with the talent in the 185 pound division that he needs a stronger challenge to reinvigorate his fighting spirit. Griffin should give him that challenge.

“It’s a great fight for him and he’s anxious and excited about it,” Ed Soares, Silva’s manager, said. “Forrest is a bigger, stronger guy with a lot of cardio and he’s the full package. The other thing Anderson likes about it is that Forrest is a big name with a huge heart and is a fan favorite kind of a guy. That’s the kind of match that makes a legendary kind of a fight and that’s what Anderson wants.”
