Sean Sherk has his own toy

November
18

I recently had the chance to Sean Sherk. One of the topics we discussed was his Series 2 Round 5 MMA figurine that hits stores this week.

Q: What was your initial reaction when you found out that Round 5 wanted to make a Sean Sherk toy?
A: I was pretty excited about it, you know? It’s something that I guess you kind of dream about. I was definitely excited about it.

Q: Do you get to play any role in the sculpting process? Did you have to go in and get any type of mold or something like that?
A: Yeah, well we took some pictures and stuff here right in my gym; a couple of different poses. Then we kind of just decided what pose we were going to use. I have been a part of the process from the beginning basically, since the first sculpting came out to where it is now. It’s been quite a long process, but it’s been a lot of fun.

Q: Do you get final input on how the toy looks?
A: They give me final input pretty much. They send me the sculptures and the up to date sculptures and ask me what I think, or if there is anything that I want changed. It basically just comes down to me, and that has been the fun part about it. I have been part of the process since the beginning.

Q: Were your sponsors happy that they were able to have a presence on the shorts of the toy?
A: I definitely used the action figure to help sell some sponsors for myself. Those guys that are on there are definitely stoked about it.

Q: Do you have to do any toy signings or publicity ?
A: That I don’t know. It comes out next week and I imagine they will probably want us to do something for it, but we haven’t got to that stuff yet.

Q: Do you have a lot of nieces and nephews that are getting “Muscle Shark” toys for Christmas this year?
A: (laughs) I would probably think so. I’ve got 16 nieces and nephews and I imagine they will probably all get one.
