I know what you are probably thinking. What is the NYSWF? The NYSWF stands for thew New York State Wrestling Federation and they are throwing a show at the New Rochelle high school on April 5th. The weigh-in for the New York State Wrestling Federation’s April 5 “Boxer vs. Wrestler Match” ,pitting Mt. Vernon, NY boxer Larry Barnes (44-3-0, 17 KO’s) versus wrestler “Sweet ‘n’ Sour” Larry Sweeney, will take place on Friday, April 4 at 4:00 p.m. at LA Boxing, 300 Waverly Ave., Mamaroneck, NY. This event is open to the public.
Another question you might have is why on earth would an MMA blogger be posting about an independent wrestling promotion?
The answer is simple. I am a wrestling fan, the card contains a former pro boxer, and the card marks the return of “Prime Time” Sam Roberts to the New Rochelle high school.
Sam Roberts is a producer of the nationally syndicated Opie and Anthony radio show, a program I listen to in its entirety on a daily basis. Sam Roberts is also a host of the “Than and Sam Show” otherwise known as the “Sam and Sam Show”. Roberts will be a special guest judge in the boxer vs. wrestler match. In the picture below, Sam Roberts is the shorter of the two Sams.

TNA’s Brother Devon will also be at L.A. Boxing to meet and greet fans as well.
Once the competitors are weighed-in, both Barnes & Sweeney will meet and greet the fans in attendance.
This event is a fundraiser for Food Bank for Westchester.
In addition to the “Boxer vs. Wrestler Match”, the April 5 wrestling event in New Rochelle, NY at New Rochelle High School with a 7:30 p.m. bell time features TNA Superstars Team 3D (Brother Ray & Brother Devon) vs. the Heavy Hitters (Monsta Mack & Havok); Ladies Match: Daizee Haze vs. Alexa Thatcher with special guest referee, former New Rochelle City Councilman Joe Fosina; Chikara Wrestling Superstars: Ultra Mantis Back vs. Fire Ant; Vic. D. Vine vs. Josh Daniels plus one more exciting wrestling match.
Tickets for the April 5 event are selling fast and further information is available at www.nyswfwrestling.com or by calling (914) 235-4676 or (914) 469-5597.
