This week’s “Hits from the MMA blogosphere” has a lot of great stuff. David Avila breaks down the upcoming WEC light-heavyweight title fight between
Doug Marshall and Brian Stann. Larry Vollmer Jr. gives his thoughts about the new BET reality series “Iron Ring.” Pramit Mohapatra gives an update on
Maryland and its MMA legislation. Steve Sievert takes a look at possible UFC free agents and where they might end up. Carlos Arias talks with Golden
Boy Promotions matchmaker Eric Gomez about De La Hoya’s company getting involved with Affliction and MMA and he breaks down the EliteXC/Strikeforce conference call featuring Frank Shamrock and Cung Le.

re: The Ortiz link. What a surprise, Dana White is publicly trashing another fighter! I’m surprised he’s been relatively reserved about Couture, although he’s probably just waiting for that lawsuit to be over. Funny stuff.
I think once he knows 100% that Randy vs Fedor won’t be happening in the UFC, the trashing will begin.
