Anderson Silva setting the stage for an Okami rematch

Anderson Silva is steadily and consistently proving to be the most dominant champion in mixed martial arts today.
The UFC has thrown anyone they can at Silva, and one by one they all succumb to a vicous spider Silva knockout or submission. He has walked through Chris Leben, Travis Lutter, Nate Marquardt, Rich Franklin two times, and most recently Dan Henderson.
Who is left for this guy to fight?
The name Yushin Okami comes to mind. Yushin is 6-1 in the UFC. More notably, he is the last fighter to give Anderson Silva a loss, albeit a controversial one.
The fight between Okami and Silva would only last 133 seconds. Okami wanted no part of Silva’s stand game and was aggressively pursuing the take down. After a series of take down attempts, Okami ended up in Silva’s closed guard. At this point, Silva landed an illegal kick to the face, prompting the referee to pause the fight. Okami was unable to continue and dubbed the winner of the match due to a disqualification.
The usually soft spoken Silva recently spoke to sherdog.com about the fight:
“I feel it was a cheap, cowardly way of winning,” Silva says more than two years after the fight. “People that were there saw that he was in the condition to come back and keep fighting, and he didn’t.”“It wasn’t really a fight,”
Okami is the next logical opponent for Silva. Anderson probably realizes this and is beginning to set up some hype for the rematch. We all know the UFC loves to book rematches, especially when a dominant fighter has the opportunity to avenge a loss from earlier in their career.
Okami would pose little threat the Anderson’s throne, but if the UFC can hype up a Rashad Evans/Michael Bisping main event, they can hype up anything.
